Katrina Mahood, OD, MPH

Dr. Katrina Mahood is an optometrist dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. Her clinical interests include ocular disease, community health, and pediatric eye care, with a focus on helping patients understand and actively participate in their eye health.

Originally from Bermuda, Dr. Mahood earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Trinity Western University in Canada. She then attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), where she earned both her Doctor of Optometry (OD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees. Prior to her undergraduate studies, she spent a gap year in Argentina, an experience that strengthened her appreciation for diverse cultures and communities.

Dr. Mahood completed her postgraduate residency training in primary care optometry at Providence Community Health Centers. Following her residency, she continued practicing in South Providence, where she provided care to a diverse patient population, including many Spanish-speaking and non-English-speaking patients. This experience further shaped her commitment to accessible, patient-centered eye care.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mahood has served as a clinical preceptor, supporting and supervising optometry students during their clinical training and helping prepare the next generation of eye care professionals.

Dr. Mahood believes in building strong relationships with her patients and providing thoughtful, individualized care that supports both their vision and long-term eye health.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Mahood enjoys spending time with her family and their dog. She is actively involved in her church community and enjoys traveling, discovering new places, and trying new foods.
