Dr. Mark Deresienski, formerly vice president of Seacoast Eye Associates proudly joined Koch Eye Associates, a Claris Vision company, as Staff Optometrist in our Wakefield, RI office.

Dr. Mark Deresienski, formerly vice president of Seacoast Eye Associates proudly joined Koch Eye Associates, a Claris Vision company, as Staff Optometrist in our Wakefield, RI office.

He graduated from Providence College in 1971. While graduating with his degree in Biology, Dr. Deresienski also had a stellar career playing soccer. In 1971 he was named athlete of the year and received the Mal Brown award.

He then attended the Mass College of Optometry graduating in 1975. He spent a year teaching at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in Kitchener, Ontario. As part of his year experience he ran the eye clinic at the Kitchener Hospital in Red Lake, Ontario where he examined gold miners and native Indians.

Dr. Deresienski is medically licensed for primary care and specializes in contact lens fitting.

Dr. Deresienski is married with three children. He enjoys golf and has his U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license. He is past president and Melvin Jones award recipient from the Narragansett Lions Club.

The Greater New Bedford Surgical and Laser Center

The Greater New Bedford Surgical and Laser Center was opened in 1986 with the express purpose of rendering high quality, state of the art eye surgery to patients of all ages, especially those with cataracts, glaucoma, or cornea disease. The Center is designed specifically with the needs of the patient in mind. The entire process from initial examination to final outcome is conducted in a pleasant comfortable environment.

After a patient decides to have surgery, he or she is assigned his or her own Surgical Counselor who is available to answer questions and provide assistance. These individuals are specially trained to assist the patient throughout the entire surgical experience, including follow up care for as long as necessary. Patients are encouraged to contact their counselor for any questions, no matter how simple or complex.
