Retinal Angiographer

Mr. Harry Kachadoorian comes to our practice with over 30 years of experience in ophthalmic imaging as a certified Retinal Angiographer. Mr. Kachadoorian is currently the Clinical Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Koch Eye Associates, and is a member of the Professional Diabetic Advisory Board through the Department of Health. He became the first certified Retinal Angiographer on the East Coast, and is presently the only one certified in the state of Rhode Island. Certification was obtained by the Ophthalmic Photographer’s Society, with members throughout the world. He has won over 30 awards for his Ophthalmic Imaging at National and International Meetings.

Mr. Kachadoorian trained to become a Retinal Angiographer at the following institutions: Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX), Tufts University School of Medicine (Boston, MA), Manhattan Eye & Ear (NY, NY), and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He is also a certified Clinical Research Coordinator with such studies as: Oculex, ETDRS, Foscarvir, Amiadarone, and Soca Ocular Complications of AIDS. In addition to his clinical research, he continually strives to educate himself through such courses as: Echography, Optical Coherence Tomography, and Indocyanine Green Angiography.

Mr. Kachadoorian has co-authored many papers within such prestigious journals as the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the New England Journal of Medicine. He has also published photographs in many Ophthalmic textbooks, most notably the world renowned Cecil Textbook of Medicine.Mr. Kachadoorian’s teaching and professional experience includes:  Clinical Instructor at national and international meetings of The American Academy of Ophthalmology, Image Acquisition Specialist from the Joslin Center for Diabetes, and Clinical Director of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Department of Ophthalmology.

He has also been a presenter and lecturer on Diabetic Retinopathy throughout the Rhode Island community, in which he created the first mobile diabetic eye screening service to Rhode Island health centers. He has also been a guest lecturer and workshop coordinator at the National Biomedical Photographers Society in Boston, Massachusetts.  Mr. Kachadoorian most recently presented a Scientific paper at the Ophthalmic Photographer's Society International Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, on a Koch Eye Associates/Joslin Vision Network System one year study.
